The All-India Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial Hockey Tournament (for the Mata Prakash Kaur Cup) will be organised for the Under-19 boys’ category from November 17 to November 24 at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Burlton Park, Jalandhar. Giving the information, president of the organising committee, Harbhajan Singh Kapur, and general secretary Gundeep Singh Kapur (Angad) said that teams from various states will participate in the eight-day tournament.

The tournament is organised to promote hockey among the youth. Sardar Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial Hockey Tournament and Mata Parkash Kaur Cup are not only names associated with a particular championship, but symbolise the togetherness of a family and the story of brothers from Jalandhar who are keeping alive the memory of their parents for the past 14 years.

Preparations for the tournament are complete and the teams have been informed. This year’s tournament will be showcased on a grander scale than ever before. For the Under-19 category, it stands as the most prestigious event in India.
