Yamunanagar, July 28

Two advocates of the Jagadhri District Bar Association have filed a suit against the Secretary of the Union Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways and against the Secretary of Haryana PWD (B&R).

The suit was filed by advocate GD Gupta along with advocate Amit Bansal under Section 91 of the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) for setting up several toll plazas within 60 km. Jagadhri Civil Judge (senior division) Sumitra Kadian ordered the issuance of summons to the defendants for September 5. Gupta said as per sub-rule (2) of rule 8 of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, two or more toll plazas could not be set up within 60 km on the same road.
