Following the appointment of Anil Vij as Transport Minister, officials of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Yamunanagar have taken swift action against two private buses on the Yamunanagar-Bilaspur-Sadhaura-Naraingarh route. The buses were seized after reports surfaced that their conductors had refused to allow girl students, holding concessional bus passes, to board.

The RTA also issued challans and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each bus operator for violating permit conditions.

Several students from the Sadhaura area had lodged a complaint with the RTA, informing authorities that they had used private buses to travel to their colleges in Yamunanagar on October 5. However, while they were allowed to board the buses in the morning, they were denied entry in the afternoon when they attempted to return from Jagadhri bus stand.
