Those arrested have been identified as Ranjit’s father Jaswant Singh of Nihanga De Jhugge village in Ferozepur and Balwant Singh of Walipur Khurd in Ludhiana. “Ranjit is one of the accused in the case and is at large. We had inputs he was hiding at his relative Tarlok’s house at Khurshedpur village here and his father also helped in arranging shelter for him. The moment we raided the place yesterday, he fled,” said Inspector Bikramjit Singh.

He said the accused was regularly changing his location and was carrying some ammunition and explosive material. A case under Sections 212 and 216 of the IPC, and 18 and 19 of the Unlawful Activities Act had been registered. — TNS
