The city police successfully located and reunited two minor brothers with their family after they mistakenly travelled to Jalandhar from Ludhiana.

The children, aged 10 and 4, from Preet Nagar, Ludhiana, had inadvertently boarded the wrong bus at the Ludhiana bus stand on September 10. Unaware of their mistake, they ended up at the Jalandhar bus stand, far away from home.

A local resident, realising that the boys were lost, quickly escorted them to the nearby police post at the bus stand. The police acted promptly, taking the children into custody and starting a search to locate their parents. A wireless alert was immediately issued to all nearby police stations to locate the children’s family.

Back in Ludhiana, their mother, Jyoti, upon learning that the children had been found in Jalandhar, rushed to the police post. The next day, after completing the necessary formalities and verification, the police safely handed over the children to their mother Jyoti.

The Commissioner of Police, Swapan Sharma, praised the swift action of the officers at the bus stand police post, recognising their professionalism and commitment to child safety.
