Two held with 150gm heroin

Tightening the noose around drug smugglers, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have arrested two individuals and recovered 150 gram of heroin from their possession.
Swapan Sharma, Commissioner of Police (CP), said after receiving a tip-off, a police party from the Division No. 1 police station laid a naka near CJS Public School, service lane, GT Road. The police party intercepted a Baleno car (bearing registration number PB02-DR-0724) at the naka. The CP said the police party conducted a thorough search of the car and its occupants during which 150 gram of heroin was recovered from the driver and his accomplice.
The driver and his accomplice identified as Amritpal Singh, a resident of Johal Dhai Wala village in Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran, and Sahib Singh, a resident of Warana village in Sarhali, Tarn Taran, were immediately arrested by the police.
The CP said an FIR under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the suspects and further probe initiated.
