Shriyansh (16) and Ashutosh Bhagat (24) from Jalandhar have won medals in boxing and made their coach Arihant proud.

While Shriyansh won a bronze medal in the National School Games that concluded in Delhi yesterday, Ashutosh qualified for the National Boxing Championship after winning a gold medal in state-level championship that was held in Jalandhar. He will now compete at the national level that will be held in Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Arihant, the boxing coach with the Punjab Sports Department, said he was proud that both his students were gaining new heights.

Shriyansh is studying in a sports school and his routine includes four hours of practice daily. “In his diet, he has paneer, milk, dry fruit, bananas, everything vegetarian,” Arihant said.

Both his parents are into sports. Shriyansh aspires to play for his nation and win medals in international games. “My only love in life is sports. I am not on any social media as well. I wish to take part in the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games and make my nation proud,” the young boxer said.

Ashutosh has done his master’s in psychology. His father is a businessman and his mother is a housewife.
