Rohit and I had differing political views but always enjoyed debating without any rancour. We did a show one night that finished at 3 am (think it was SC verdict on Karnataka) after which he said, âboss aaj maza aa gaya!â He was a passionate anchor journalist. RIP Rohit Sardana.

Full of energy, passionate about Indiaâs progress and a kind hearted soul, Rohit will be missed by many people. His untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world. News director of Aaj Tak and India Today Rahul Kanwal said his newsroom was in âdeep shockâ and remembered Sardana as a âsharp young anchorâ who never âflinched from asking questionsâ.
âRohit Sardana was the sharpest young anchor I have met. Superb command over Hindi, brilliant with his turn of the phrase, precise questions, clear in his thinking, loved by the masses, warm and humble off the screen, he was destined for great things. Our newsroom is in deep shock,â Kanwal tweeted.
âRohit had greater conviction than most. For many, a right leaning world view is an acquired fad, a means of cultivating popularity. Rohitâs views were deeply held & strongly articulated. But he wasnât an andh bhakt & never flinched from asking questions. Thatâs why he was special,â he said. PTI
