Truck driver arrested for raping 12-year-old girl
The police claimed to have solved a rape case of 12-year-old minor girl after the arrest of the suspect in this connection. The suspect has been identified as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Sher Nagar in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The Sanoli police produced the suspect in a court on Saturday after his five-day police remand ended. The court sent the suspect to judicial custody.
Sub-Inspector Arvind, SHO, Sanoli police station, said a person of a village in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh in his complaint on October 18 stated that his 12-year-old daughter went somewhere on October 17 without informing anyone in the house. He searched for his daughter, but she was not traced.
The SHO said the girl was found near Sanjay Chowk under suspicious circumstances. The minor girl in her statement before the magistrate said she was walking on the Sanoli road. A truck came there and its driver asked her to come with him. She boarded the truck. The truck driver told the girl that his name was Shiv Kumar. He took her to a factory and unloaded goods from his truck. After that he took the girl to another place. She further alleged the truck driver raped her three times in his vehicle.
Following girl’s statement, the Sanoli police registered a case under POCSO Act and began a probe into the matter. During investigation the police collected details from all factories. The police found an entry of Shiv Kumar in a factory on October 17.
After collecting all details about Shiv Kumar, the police arrested him on October 26 under the Chhajpur flyover.
