An inter-state coordination meeting of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula was held today during which the issue of movement of gangsters in the tricity was discussed.
The meeting was called following three firing incidents, including a murder, in Chandigarh, besides growing activities of gangsters across the tricity.

DGP to submit report
Chandigarh: Concerned over the deteriorating law and order situation, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has asked DGP Sanjay Beniwal to submit a report on the recent shooting incidents in the city. The Administrator ordered the DGP to investigate the murder of 26-year-old Gurlal Brar and another shooting incident in Sector 9. Badnore sought a time-bound report on all such incidents in the past three years.
It was decided that information on the movement of gangsters should be shared. Deliberations on preparing a strategy to curb crime in the tricity, besides strategies to check the proliferation of illicit firearms, were also held during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the UT DIG and the SSP, the IGP, Ropar Range, and the SSP, Mohali, and the DCP and the ACP, Panchkula.
