An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Qatar’s Doha on Sunday was delayed, leaving passengers stranded for hours inside the aircraft.

Flight number 6E 1303, scheduled to depart at 3:55 am, faced technical issues that kept the passengers waiting on board for over four hours before they were eventually asked to deboard.

Some passengers took to social media to complain about the long flight delay and that they had to wait for long. The flight was to take off on Sunday early morning.

On Sunday morning, a passenger on X said the flight was stuck for four hours due to a technical problem and that the immigration authority was not giving permission to offload the passengers.

The flight is now expected to take off later in the day from the Mumbai airport, sources said.

IndiGo has since issued an apology, with a spokesperson confirming the delay was due to technical reasons. “The aircraft tried to depart a couple of times but was called off due to the extended time lag caused by various procedural delays,” the airline said in a statement.

The spokesperson added that assistance was provided to affected customers, including refreshments and hotel accommodations, and passengers were being rebooked.  (With inputs from agencies)
