Jalandhar’s Rachel Gupta first Indian to win Miss Grand International Crown
Twenty-year-old Rachel Gupta from Jalandhar has become the first Indian to be crowned Miss Grand International (MGI), 2024, at an event at the MGI Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 25.
Miss Grand International, which boasts of over five million followers globally, is recognised as one of the world’s leading beauty pageants.

Rachel, a former Miss Super Talent of the World, 2022, secured a place on the international stage by winning the Miss Grand India title at a national pageant held in Jaipur in August.
Competing against participants from over 70 countries, Rachel showcased remarkable poise and performance, remaining among the top contenders throughout the competition.
She also won the Grand Pageants Choice Award, 2024. With over a million followers on Instagram, Rachel’s influence continues to grow. She will now serve as the global ambassador for MGI, promoting peace and stability worldwide.
Talking to this correspondent, Tejasvi Minhas, her family member, expressed joy, saying that Rachel’s victory, which ties her with Lara Dutta for the most global pageant crowns won by an Indian, has made both the city and the country proud. Her homecoming is scheduled for later this year.
