To boost grassroots support, AAP to hold conventions from November 11
Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the AAP has scheduled district-level conventions from November 11 to 20, led by party national convener Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders.
These conventions are aimed at uniting booth, mandal and district-level officers from 14 key districts across Delhi, said AAP Delhi state convener Gopal Rai.
“The AAP has been consistently preparing for the Delhi Assembly elections. In the first phase, we successfully showcased the development work carried out by the Delhi Government in each Assembly constituency through the ‘Aapka Vidhayak Aapke Dwar’ program,” he added.
He noted that AAP has now completed the formation of booth committees across Delhi, comprising volunteers dedicated to working towards success in the Assembly elections.
Rai said, “Before Diwali, (Kejriwal), along with senior leaders, completed padayatra in all constituencies across Delhi.” He added that the second phase of Kejriwal’s padyatra in various Assembly constituencies is currently underway.
According to Rai, starting November 11, the AAP will hold 14 district conventions across Delhi, structured along the party’s organisational lines, with each district covering five Assembly constituencies.
Rai further mentioned that all officers at the booth, mandal, ward and Assembly levels would take an oath at these conventions, pledging their commitment to forming a majority government in the next Assembly elections. The conventions will commence in the West Lok Sabha constituency for Kirari and Tilak Nagar districts and conclude in the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency for Mehrauli district.
“During these conventions, nearly 1 lakh booth-level officers will take oath, and from November 20 onwards, they will assume responsibility for leading Aam Aadmi Party’s electoral campaign in the upcoming elections,” he added.
