Till justice be done...
STRAP: As Rhea Chakraborty gets bail in the SSR case, most celebrities are happy that the trauma for her is over for the moment
After the news broke out about Sushant Singh Rajput’s post mortem report, which ruled out murder theory, voices started gathering for Rhea Chakraborty’s bail. Celebs awaited and welcomed the Bombay High Court’s decision to grant bail to Rhea on social media. Some from the film fraternity wished Rhea rest and justice after spending 28 days in jail. Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested on September 9, finally got out on bail, with conditions, on October 7.
“#rheagetsbail. About time!” posted Swara Bhasker. Soni Razdan posted emoji of folded hands tagging @MumbaiHighCourt. Farhan Akhtar and Kanika Dhillon called out the anchors. Akhtar tweeted, “Any shrill anchors apologising for the hell they put #RheaChakraborty and her family through? Didn’t think so. But watch them shift the goalpost now… they’re notorious for that.”
Kanika Dhillon wrote, “Thanku! #BombayHC 4 restoring some dignity! And those who led the witch-hunt and media trial against @Tweet2Rhea #RheaChakraborthy let your heads hang in shame. And remember as we watched/enjoyed n gave TRP’s to screaming anchors – spinning hysterical yarns – This innocent girl languished in jail.”
Justice for Rhea
Taapsee Pannu posted: “Hope her time in jail has sufficed the egos of a lot of people out there, who in the name of justice for Sushant fulfilled their personal/professional agendas. Praying she doesn’t become bitter towards the life she has ahead of her. Life is unfair but at least it’s not over as yet.” Pannu also took a jibe at Kangana who has been vocal about the murder conspiracy in SSR’s death, “Hey! Now that both CBI and AIIMS have concluded that #SushantSinghRajput tragically died by suicide… weren’t some people going to return their government bestowed awards???”
“Finally!!! She gets bail. #Rhea Chakraborty” wrote director Anubhav Sinha , adding, “The next thing CBI should probably investigate is who were the people running the Sushant murder conspiracy theory and why. They must go to jail”
Others were succinct in their message, “Thank god!” posted Ali Fazal. “Go get some rest girl,” posted Hansal Mehta. Meanwhile, Huma Qureshi tweeted, “Everyone owes #RheaChakraborty an apology … And there must be an investigation into people who started these murder conspiracy theories … Shame on you for destroying a girl @Tweet2Rhea.”
Flip side
Not all seemed relieved at the decision though. Kamal R Khan wrote, “Finally everyone has got bail. #SushantSinghRajput committed suicide confirmed by #CBI and #AIIMS. No foul play and nobody is responsible. 110 days drama is over. So why was all this drama by #CBI and #NCB if Mumbai police was right? Proved, everything is having a price in India.” He earlier targeted the people who were demanding bail and wrote, “Director #AnubhavSinha #SwaraBhasker and #TaapseePannu etc are demanding the immediate release of #RheaChakraborty! They are saying that she is a young actress, so she doesn’t deserve to live in jail. Hope people know well, what they have to do with their upcoming films.” – TNS

Rhea’s lawyer issues statement
Rhea Chakraborty finally got bail from the Bombay High Court after spending 28 days in jail. She was arrested in the drug case by the NCB. However, her brother Showik Chakraborty has been denied bail owing to financial transactions between him and the drug dealer Abdul Basit Parihar, who was also arrested by the NCB. Along with Rhea, Sushant Singh Rajput’s staff, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant, have also been granted bail.
Reacting to the judgement, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde in a statement said, “We are delighted by the order. Truth and justice have prevailed, and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted. The hounding and witch-hunt by three central agencies, the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau should come to an end. We remain committed to truth. Satyameva Jayate.”
