NURPUR, JULY 1
The Railways has suspended three night trains on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow gauge rail line, keeping in view the monsoon and the threat of landslides on the railway track. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ferozepur (Punjab), has ordered the suspension of three of seven trains till further order.
The Railways has suspended three trains that depart from the Pathankot railway station at 2.05 am, 3.10 am and 5.50 am. DRM Seema Sharma said the route from Pathankot to Jogindernagar was prone to frequent landslides during the monsoon and the Railway Department could not take risk with regard to the safety of passengers. “The suspended train services will resume when there is no risk,” she said.
