Three loot Rs 2.5L from mobile shop, one caught by trader

Three miscreants barged into a mobile shop at King Enclave on the Ferozepur road on Thursday night and looted Rs 2.5 lakh from the shopkeeper. The victim managed to caught hold of one of the robbers while the others fled with the cash on a motorcycle.

The shopkeeper, Harpreet Singh, said he was sitting alone at the shop when three youths riding a bike stopped outside his shop. Two of the youths came inside and told him that they wanted to buy a mobile phone cover.

As he started showing the same, the miscreants pulled down the shutter of the shop. They took out a sharp weapon from the bag and asked him to hand over cash to them. They took out Rs 2.5 lakh cash kept in a bag.

The victim said he pleaded with the miscreants not to take the money but they did not listen. When they were fleeing the scene, two of them escaped on the bike while the third suspect fell on the way as he was pulled by the victim from the rear. The suspect attacked him with a sharp weapon. Hearing the noise, people gathered at the place and informed the Sarabha Nagar police.

The police launched a probe to nab the remaining two suspects.
