Three illegal mining cases registered in Yamunanagar

The district police have registered three FIRs against the owners of three screening plants of Yamunanagar in connection with illegal mining cases.

On the complaint of Mining Inspectors Aman Kumar and Rohit Singh, the FIRs were registered against the owners of M/S RK Enterprises Screening Plant, Mandewala village; M/S Dogra Screening Plant, Nagla village and M/S Jai Bhole Screening Plant, Mohidinpur village.

The FIRs were registered under the Sections 21 (1), 21 (4) (A) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, at the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau police station, Yamunanagar.

According to information, a team of the Mining Department conducted a surprise inspection at these screening plants. During inspection, the team found 80 MT coarse-sand, 40 MT bajri, 250 MT gatka and 150 MT gravel in the premises of M/S RK Enterprises Screening Plant.

As per authorities of the Mines and Geology Department, the said minerals are procured through illegal mining as no authorised/legal mining query is operational in this area.

Similarly, the team found 150 MT gatka, 250 MT coarse-sand and 600 MT gravel in the premises of Dogra Screening Plant.

The team also found a pit near this screening plant, where about 2,560 MT of raw mining minerals (a mixture of bajri, gravel and sand) was allegedly found excavated. The team members also conducted an inspection at Jai Bhole Screening Plant and found 400 MT gatka, 150 MT bajri, 350 MT coarse-sand and 400 MT gravel.

As per the Mining Department authorities, the tenure of legal mining query in the Ranjitpur-Nagli-32 area came to an end in 2023, and no legal mining query was functional in this area at present. Therefore, the mining minerals found in the premises of the screening plants were illegal mining minerals.

“Three separate FIRs have been registered in connection with illegal mining in the area,” said Mining Inspector Aman Kumar.
