Three hurt as steamer explodes in hospital
Three women, including two therapists, at Civil Hospital suffered burn injuries from boiling water after a steamer exploded in Ambala City on Friday.
The injured were identified as therapists Sunaina, Sujata and Vandana.
As per the information, on Friday morning, a patient, Vandana, was getting steam therapy done at the Ayush Department of the hospital and all of a sudden there was a blast in the steamer following which the patient and two therapists suffered injuries from boiled water.
They were rushed to the trauma centre of the hospital where the Sujata and Vandana were discharged after first aid while Sunaina was undergoing treatment.
Sunaina said probably the rubber of the steamer was not functioning properly and it led to the incident. Meanwhile, the senior authorities of the department said a loud blast was heard and when they went to check, they found the room was full of steam. Fortunately, no one sustained major injuries and they have informed the higher authorities about the incident.
