Three held with 32.18 gram heroin
Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 32.18 grams of heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified a Kshitiz, alias Cherry (25), a resident of Hallo Majra; Sudeep Pahal (27) of Kurukshetra and Ramdeep (26) of Hisar. They were arrested at a naka laid near the 3BRD road in Ram Darbar. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Sector 31 police station.
Postal Dept to hold exhibition
Chandigarh: The city postal division is going to organise a district-level philatelic exhibition, ‘Dak Utsav-2024’. The brochure of this exhibition was released today by Harjinder Singh Bhatti, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Chandigarh Division. The two-day exhibition to be organised at Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38, on October 23 and 24 will exhibit rare and precious stamps of India and the world. Besides, stamp collection of senior philatelists, young collectors and students from various schools and colleges will also be displayed.
Arora new MC chief engineer
Chandigarh: The UT Administration on Wednesday appointed Sanjay Arora as the Chief Engineer of the MC. According to an order issued by Mandip Sing Brar, Secretary, Local Government, UT, Arora, presently posted as Chief Engineer, New Delhi MC, has been appointed to the post of Chief Engineer in the MC on deputation initially for one year or till such time his services are required by the MC.
