Three held for robbing fuel station

The police said they have solved a midnight fuel station robbery case with the arrest of all the three suspects within hours of receipt of the information at Malaudh Police station.
A sharp-edged weapon and motorcycle used in the crime besides a part of the stolen money were recovered from the suspects identified as Pritpal Singh Preet of Nanakpur Jagera village, and Satwinder Singh Shenti and Amandeep Singh of Ahmedgarh.
Payal DSP Deepak Rai said Gautam Jha, manager of Kapila Fuels Petrol Pump, Nanakpur Jagera, Ludhiana-Malerkotla road, had lodged a complaint with Malaudh SHO Sukhdeep Singh about robbery by three persons at around 12.30 am on Friday. The accused took Rs 40,000 from the fuel station before leaving.
Having received the information about the incident, Khanna SSP Ashwani Gotyal constituted a special team under the supervision of SP Saurav Jindal and DSP Deepak Rai and initiated the probe.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Guatam Jha and his associate Kharak Singh had locked their cabin at about 12.15 am with intent to sleep and heard a noise outside after about 15 minutes.
The suspects were trying to break the cabin’s glass door with the help of a sharp-edged weapon and Amandeep was also hurt in the attempt. The trio succeeded in entering the cabin and took away Rs 40,000 by threatening Jha and Singh with the weapon.
DSP Rai said the accused were nabbed from different places during the day and Rs 23,000, the weapon and motorcycle were recovered from their possession.
The suspects are presently in police custody.
