‘Thrashed by client’, milkman kills self in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, July 17
A milkman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the canal near Katana Sahib after being beaten by a client today. The deceased has been identified as Harjit Singh (27) of Jamalpur.
The deceased’s father, Gurjit Singh, said his son delivered milk at the house of Inderjit Singh of Mundian Khurd. Recently, Harjit had started an affair with Inderjit’s daughter. The police said on July 13, when Harjit went to the house of Inderjit to deliver milk, the latter thrashed him.
Today, the scooter of the deceased was found near the canal at Katana Sahib. When the police searched for the victim, his body was found in the canal near Jhammat village.
The victim’s father said his son committed suicide due to the physical torture inflicted on him by Inderjit.
The Jamalpur police have registered an abetment-to-suicide case against Inderjit. — TNS
