Third mock test under PARAKH Campaign on Nov 19
The third mock test for classes III, VI and IX under Performance, Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) campaign will be held on November 19 while the main exam will be held on December 4.
The Higher Education Department of Chamba has issued directives to government schools regarding this campaign aimed at assessing students.
So far, two mock tests have been conducted across the Chamba district, with one remaining.
Evaluating students
- The Central Government has launched the PARAKH National Survey
- It has replaced the National Assessment Survey and aims to evaluate students in classes III, VI and IX
- Evaluations shall take place across various subjects — three subjects for classes III and VI and four for Class IX
“The final mock test will include an oral examination, after which a progress report will be prepared,” said Sudhir Bhatia, PARAKH campaign Nodal Officer.
On Wednesday, Bhatia visited several schools in the district to monitor the progress of the ongoing PARAKH activities, holding discussions with students from classes III, VI and IX. Bhatia urged teachers to actively prioritise preparations and encouraged students to perform well in the upcoming assessment. He also visited Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya to discuss survey preparations with the principals.
The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has implemented multiple measures to improve the state's ranking in this national survey. Study materials focusing on skill-based learning are being supplied to all district education offices to aid teachers in guiding students through relevant practice questions.
As part of the PARAKH National Survey 2024, a nationwide assessment will be held on December 4 to gauge students' comprehension level and the quality of education. “Students from selected schools in classes III, VI and IX will be evaluated,” said Bhatia.
With the aim of improving Himachal Pradesh’s national ranking, the state has already conducted two mock tests in government schools, with the third one scheduled for November 19 in both government and private schools.
