The school hosted an inspiring online interaction of the students of classes IX to XII with gallantry award recipient Lt Col Amanpreet Singh Legha (retired) of 27 Assam Rifles. Lt Col Legha, who led a daring operation in the Kohima district against a group of insurgents, shared vivid details of the mission where his quick, decisive thinking cut off the insurgents’ escape route, resulting in the elimination of eight insurgents and the seizure of their ammunition. For his extraordinary valour, he was awarded the prestigious Shaurya Chakra. During the interaction, Lt Col. Legha didn’t just recount his heroic actions, but also spoke about the values of leadership, resilience, and responsibility in the face of adversity. He emphasised the importance of strategic thinking and staying calm under pressure, which were key factors in the success of his mission. The students were deeply engaged, asking questions about his training, the challenges he faced, and how he prepared both mentally and physically for such operations. Principal Harsimran Kaur shared that the interaction which was a part of a series of activities under Veer Gatha, an initiative by CBSE, left an indelible impression on students, instilling in them a sense of patriotism, duty, and courage.
