Chandigarh, December 27
Terrorists affiliated with ‘Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force’ were arrested near Galuthi in Rajouri district with explosive material on Sunday.
The terrorists were apprehended in an intelligence-based joint operation of the Army and the J&K Police.
“With the arrest of these terrorists, the security forces have unearthed a nexus involving local terrorists which were involved in ferrying warlike stores and narcotics. The search operation is still on to recover more arms or explosive material from their hideouts,” said a Defence spokesperson.
The terrorists were likely to carry out a blast in Rajouri district and were probably attempting to disrupt the communal harmony in the region, he said.
Two foreign terrorists of JK Ghaznavi Force were also killed in an encounter on 13 December at Dogrian (Poonch) on Old Mughal Road. A connection to Pakistani handlers is also being probed, he said.
