Teacher suspended for coming late to school
A woman teacher in Chauparsa school at Lug valley in Kullu, who had allegedly been coming late to school for the past three years, and was not found present during the department’s inspection, has been put under suspension. Kullu Elementary Education Deputy Director (DD) Surender Sharma said that the teacher was suspended with immediate effect on Wednesday. BEEO office, Naggar, has been fixed as her headquarter.
The members of the School Management Committee (SMC) and the parents complained to the officials of the Education Department about the teacher reaching school late every day. The Block Primary Education Officer informed the DD who inspected the spot along with a team. When the teacher was late to school that particular day, she made an excuse for being late.
However, the SMC and parents alleged that the teacher has been coming late like this for the last 3 years and stated that a complaint had been made to the Education Department earlier too but she did not mend her ways. SMC chairman Mahender Singh said that one post of a teacher was vacant in the school, while the entire school was in the hands of that particular teacher.
A parent, Gorkhi Devi, alleged the children keep playing in the school for half the day. Due to her casual attitude, the studies of the students were getting affected, she alleged.
