The Fatehabad court has directed the lower court to proceed with a complaint against Dr Suraj Bhan Kamboj, who is the accused in an eight-year-old recruitment scam. He has retired from the post of the Director, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Health Department.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Surender Kumar observed that “there is sufficient material on record to proceed further with the complaint against the accused for commission of offence punishable under Sections 166 (public servant disobeying law, with intent to cause injury to any person), 167 (public servant framing an incorrect document with intent to cause injury) and 415 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code”.

It ordered the trial court to pass a fresh order on the complaint in accordance with the law.

On October 18, 2018, advocate Vinod Kumar had filed an application under Section 156(3) (judicial magistrate’s power to investigate cognisable case) of the CrPC for sending it to the SHO concerned for registering an FIR under Sections 166, 167, 415, 418, 463, 464, 466 and 468 of the IPC against Dr Kamboj.

As per the complaint, Dr Kamboj had allegedly committed irregularities in the filling of vacancies in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) when he was the Civil Surgeon in Fatehabad in 2013-14.
