Paddlers of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) delivered an outstanding performance by defeating Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) 3-0 to reach into the men’s final on the second day of the 51st All-India Inter-Institutional Table Tennis Tournament, here.

The PSPB will face the Railways Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in the final. The RSPB logged a 3-1 win against the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Earlier in the men’s quarterfinals, PSPB defeated the Food Corporation of India (FCI) 3-0. The RBI had to fight hard for a 3-1 win against Canara Bank, while RSPB overcame a tough challenge from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), winning 3-2, IA&AD also won a close match against Central Railway 3-2.

In the women’s quarterfinals, Airports Authority of India and PSPB reached the semis by logging a 3-0 win in their respective matches. AAI beat Canara Bank, and PSPB defeated FCI as Railways and RBI women’s teams directly advanced to the semis by the virtue of getting byes in the first round.

Men semifinals: PSPB bt IA&AD 3-0 (Manav Thakkar bt SFR Snehit 11-5 15-13 11-8, Harmeet Desai bt Abhimanyu Mitra 10-12 11-4 11-7 11-7, G Sathiyan bt H Jeho 11-4 12-10 11-5); RSPB bt RBI 3-1 (Anirban Ghosh lost to Manush Shah 12-14 7-11 3-11, Jeet Chandra bt Raj Mondal 12-10 11-9 11-7, Akash Pal bt Vighney P Reddy 11-9 11-6 11-6 and Jeet bt Manush 12-10 11-7 11-8).
