SUV driver arrested for performing stunts on road in Gurugram

The Gurugram police have arrested the driver of a second SUV in connection with an incident where two cars were seen performing dangerous stunts on a road in Gurugram, a video of which was widely shared on social media. The driver of the Thar was arrested earlier, and now the police have arrested the Scorpio driver. The police also impounded the black Scorpio from his possession.
The arrested has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Badshahpur. The other accused, Harish Kumar, also a resident of Badshahpur, was arrested on August 10 for performing stunts with his black Thar.
The video, which went viral in the first week of this month, shows a 27-second clip where the drivers of a Thar and a Scorpio were seen dangerously spinning their vehicles on the Gurugram-Sohna road. The footage also captured a man on a bicycle narrowly avoiding an accident by slamming on his brakes.
A police spokesperson stated that after the video went viral, the Gurugram police took suo motu cognisance of the offence, leading to the registration of an FIR at the Badshahpur police station. Both accused have now been arrested in the case.
