Sukhu meets Nadda, seeks more funds for bulk drug park project
Shimla, July 18
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has requested Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda for additional financial assistance for setting up the bulk drug park in Una.
Sukhu called on Nadda in New Delhi late last evening. He highlighted the critical role of the bulk drug park in the state’s economic development and its potential to generate significant local employment opportunities and urged the Centre to help in setting it up.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s commitment to promote the health sector through improved infrastructure and services. He emphasised the need for state-of-the-art medical technology in hospitals to reduce the need for local residents to seek advanced medical care outside the state. He also demanded funds for completing the construction work at Nahan, Chamba and Hamirpur medical colleges.
Sukhu said that quality medical education was being imparted to students in the state and urged Nadda to help the pass-out nursing students to find jobs abroad as well. The Union Minister assured Sukhu of all possible assistance to the state from the Central Government. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur also attended the meeting.
