Sukhu making false claims of fulfilling guarantees: Jai Ram
Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today slammed Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for making false claims about fulfilling the guarantee of purchasing cow dung.
Thakur, in a statement issued here, said that the government had not procured even one kilo of cow dung anywhere in the state. “The people of the state want to know from him the details of farmers from whom cow dung has been purchased and how the guarantee has been fulfilled,” he added.
He accused the Chief Minister of making false claims and misleading the public. He claimed that Sukhu was the first Chief Minister of the state who was distorting facts. “A Chief Minister, who has falsely claimed the fulfillment of a guarantee, is now blaming EVMs for the defeat of the Congress in the recent Assembly elections,” he added.
Thakur said, “First, the Chief Minister had disowned the guarantees made by the Congress in the run up to the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections and now he is making false claims of having fulfilled them.” He added that the Congress came to power in the name of giving jobs but its government was now taking away jobs, eliminating posts and snatching employment opportunities from the youth.
He said, “The Chief Minister is claiming that his government has fulfilled the guarantee of launching the Rs 680 crore start-up scheme. Seeing and hearing his statements in the media, the youth of the state are not only asking each other but also BJP leaders when this scheme was launched.”
The former Chief Minister said that Sukhu, who was raising loans every month and showing people the dreams of a self-reliant Himachal in 2027, should tell them what his government was going to do in 2025.
