Students steal spotlight at youth fest
The second day of the 47th Zonal Youth Festival at Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar, continued to showcase the exceptional talent and creativity of the participants on Wednesday.
Dr Jagbir Rathi, Director (retd) of Youth and Cultural Affairs of MDU, Rohtak, a renowned artist who featured in Amir Khan’s Dangal movie, was the guest of honour, along with observer Dr Rishi Pal, Principal of Babu Anant Ram Janta College, Kail (Kaithal district).
A number of events, including rasiya group dance, solo dance (Haryanvi) male, group dance general, one-act play, mimicry, group song (Haryanvi), Haryanvi/Hindi skit performances, saang, Indian orchestra, folk instrumental (solo), clay modelling, cartooning, mehendi and collage making competitions were conducted.
Besides, Sanskrit declamation and debate competitions were also organised during the programme.
The Director of the GNG College, Yamunanagar, Dr Varinder Gandhi, and Principal Dr Harvinder Kaur congratulated all the winners and praised all the teams for their commendable performances.
Advisor Prof Seema Sharma and the convenors — Dr Rumnit Kaur, Dr Ambika Kashyap and Babila Chauhan ensured the successful organisation of the event.
