Strong relationship with Sangrur MP pays off for Dhaliwal
Harinder Singh Dhaliwal, 35, a close associate of Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has been fielded by AAP from the Barnala Assembly segment in the bypoll scheduled on November 13.
Dhaliwal was also a covering candidate for Meet Hayer in the Lok Sabha elections for the Sangrur parliamentary constituency. He said, “I joined AAP in 2013 and has been working as a member of Meet Hayer’s team in Barnala.” Officially he has no post in the party organisation despite being a worker for the past more than 10 years.
Born on February 24, 1989, Dhaliwal did B Tech in Information Technology from Swami Vivekananda Institute of Engineering and Technology, Banur, in 2013.
Regarding his relationship with Meet Hayer, he said though they both studied together, basis of their true friendship was their party.
Dhaliwal said, “I am happy that the party has given the ticket to an ordinary worker. If elected, I will work for the welfare of people and ensure the overall development of this segment.”
