Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta has announced strict security guidelines for the upcoming International Shri Renuka Ji Fair 2024 to ensure law and order during the event.

The fair, which will take place from November 11 to November 15, attracts a large number of visitors, including pilgrims from neighbouring states like Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

In a recent order, Khimta specified that no individual was permitted to carry firearms, sticks, sharp weapons or any form of explosives within the boundaries of the gram panchayat areas of Dadahu, Khala-Kyar and Renuka Ji, where the fair is held. Exceptions apply only to authorised defence and security personnel, as well as those granted special permission for religious customs.

Moreover, as part of the new regulations, devotees and visitors will not be allowed to offer coconuts at the Shri Renuka Ji Temple. This measure has been put in place to avoid any potential risks associated with overcrowding and to streamline the temple activities. Additionally, individuals found carrying or consuming alcohol within the fair premises will face legal action.
