Strawberry Fields paddlers move into semifinals
The boys’ U-15 table tennis team of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, moved into the semifinals of the 37th Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship by defeating Saupin’s School, Sector 32, at the Sector 50 Sports Complex. Aarush defeated Vihaan 11-3 7-11 11-3 11-7 to put the Sector 26 team ahead, while Kairav doubled the lead by defeating Saket 7-11 9-11 11-3 11-6 11-5. In the doubles match, Parth and Kairav defeated Yuvraj and Saket 11-8 11-6 11-7.
St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, also logged an identical 3-0w in over AKSIPS-41. Sanchit defeated Ansh 11-2 11-5 11-2, Divpratap ousted Vaibhav 11-1 11-1 11-1 and the team of Divpratap and Sanchit defeated Ansh and Vaibhav 11-2 11-1 11-1. St Anne’s School, Sector 32, defeated Vivek High School, Sector 38, as Aarav Juneja defeated Darsh 11-0 11-2 11-1 and Aarav Chopra ousted Taarush 11-3 11-9 8-11 11-5. Juneja and Chopra defeated Darsh and Taarush 11-2 11-4 11-3 to win the match. Delhi Public School, Sector 40, also easily overpowered AKSIPS, as Bhavin defeated Prabhkirat 11-2 11-1 11-1 and Japishit outplayed Aarav 11-2 11-1 11-1. Bhavin and Mehul defeated Aarav and Prabhkirat 11-0 11-1 11-2.
In the girls’ U-15 quarterfinals, Delhi Public School advanced further by defeating Manav Mangal School. Bhavani defeated Ishanvi 11-3, 11-4, 11-5, while Sherell ousted Sameeksha 11-1, 11-6, 11-3. St Joseph’s defeated Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. Vani started with an 11-3, 11-1, 11-6 win over Tisha, while Teetiksha defeated Jaskirat 11-1, 11-2, 11-3. Vani and Teetiksha defeated Tisha and Jaskirat 11-3, 11-3, 11-4. St Anne’s (A) defeated St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, as Bhumika started with an 11-5, 11-5, 11-4 win over Sanidhya.
