State to play key role in making India a developed nation: CM

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the state would play a crucial role in achieving the target of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, which has been set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The CM was addressing participants of 'Run for Unity', held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in Kurukshetra on Thursday.

The CM said, “The target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 is a collective responsibility of the 140 crore people in the country, and Haryana would play an important role in achieving the target.”

He said freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a visionary whose spirit resided in the hearts of the people. Sardar Patel played a crucial role in the freedom struggle and, after independence, he undertook the unparalleled task of unifying the country. The purpose of the Run for Unity is to enhance national unity and integrity. The message of unity would resonate globally from the sacred land of Kurukshetra.

Saini also administered the oath of national unity to all attendees, encouraging them to strengthen the unity and integrity of India. During the event, the Chief Minister honoured athletes who excelled in the Olympics and Asian Games.

The Run for Unity began and concluded at the Dronacharya Stadium, after covering the Mini-Secretariat, Panchnad Chowk and Jindal Chowk. The CM also participated in the run.

Former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Geeta Bharti and Ambala Range IG Sibash Kabiraj were present on the occasion.

Later, the Chief Minister celebrated Diwali at Baba Bansivala Vridha Ashram and Sakshi Balkunj Ashram in Ladwa, and distributed sweets, clothes and fruits to the inmates. The CM interacted with children and old aged people and enquired about the facilities being provided.

Some of them requested the CM to get the old aged pension started and also get their Ayushman cards prepared. The CM directed Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Jogpal to get the process started and address the issues.

At Children Home, the CM motivated the children to study with dedication and achieve their respective targets.

Later, the CM met BJP workers and office-bearers at Kisan Rest House in Babain.
