State-level under-11 sports meet commences in Rohtak

Rohtak Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashish Kumar stated that sports developed discipline, team spirit and leadership skills and plays an important role in the all-round development of children.

The SDM was addressing participants after inaugurating the three-day 6th Haryana State-Level Under-11 Sports Mahakumbh, organised by the district administration and the Education Department in Rohtak today.

As many as 5,200 players from all 22 districts of Haryana are participating in 11 competitions under the sports meet. The competitions are being organised at six venues.

District Education Officer Manjeet Malik said all departments were contributing towards the organisation of the sports meet here.

District Elementary Education Officer Diljeet Singh said different events under the competition were being organised at different venues.

Students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Model Town, and Government Senior Secondary School, Sunderpur, enthralled the gathering with their cultural performances at the inaugural ceremony.
