State debt-ridden under AAP: Bajwa
The Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa accused the AAP government of turning Punjab into a debt-ridden state in just 2.5 years of its tenure.
“The Mandi Board has been running from pillar to post to raise loans from several banks. Some banks have already shown reluctance to provide loans,” he added.
Bajwa said the Mandi Board had now opted for a loan from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at 8.3 per cent to repair rural roads.
“The Punjab Government is in a knee-deep financial crisis only because of mismanagement and inefficiency of the AAP cabinet,” said Bajwa.
He said the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government had already hiked Motor Vehicles Tax, VAT on petrol and diesel and collector rates in the recent past.
