State child rights panel visits Fatehabad
To organise campaigns on school safety and community awareness programme, Anil Kumar Lathar and Shyam Shukla, members of Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (HSCPCR), Panchkula, visited Fatehabad district on Monday.
During the visit, HSCPCR team addressed awareness camps at DAV Police Public School, Fatehabad, Government High School, Dhangar, and Government High School, Kajalheri.
The team also inspected the midday meal and cleanliness system.
At the awareness camps, the members of the commission, Lathar and Shukla, told the students to be alert about the safety provisions in the school bus and said one should check whether the driver of the school van was in uniform or cameras were installed in the buses or not. They further said the students should check whether the attendant was from the school in the bus or not and also check the expiry date of the fire extinguishers that were installed in the school van.
The HSCPCR members also inform the students about POCSO law/child development, child labour, child marriage, education, safe vehicle policy, traffic rules etc. Information related to the POCSO law and Juvenile Justice Act was provided by Legal-cum-Probation Officer advocate Brijesh Sevda from the District Child Protection Unit.
