St Anne’s Convent School, Chandigarh

The school organised the second edition of MUN (Model United Nations) Conference. The event witnessed overwhelming response of unprecedented 700 delegates from across the northern region of the country and overseas. The chief guest was Rt Rev Bishop Ignatius L Mascarenhas. The conference included committees like UHRC, UNSC, UNODC, AIPPM, WWEC, FIFA, ICC, WHO, UNGA, Lok Sabha and IP, which promoted a wide array of global issues, including child rights, global health issues and pandemics, climate change, international security, human rights, women empowerment, and economic development. An exhilarating social night was organised in which the highlight was live performance by ‘Bang Dudes’, making it a memorable night of music, dancing, and socialising. The lively atmosphere of the night fostered camaraderie among delegates. On the second day too, Delegates remained engaged in intense debates, negotiations, and resolution drafting, pushing the boundaries of creative problem-solving and consensus-building. The event culminated with presentation of awards to “The Best Delegates” from each committee. School Manager Rev Father Ambrose D’Souza declared the conference ‘Closed’. Rev Father appreciated school Principal Sr Siji Isaac for facilitating the event and congratulated the MUN faculty and organising committee members, including all students who solely managed the event on their own and worked tirelessly for several months in making the conference possible.
