A day after Kalyan Chaubey and other EC members announced that they will bring a No Confidence Motion against IOA president PT Usha, the sprint queen has given strict instructions to staff to not entertain Chaubey.

As reported by The Tribune, 12 Executive members including treasurer Sahdev Yadav, senior vice president Ajay Patel and vice president Gagan Narang, had reappointed Chaubey as acting CEO after refusing to sanction Raghuram Iyer’s appointment.

On Thursday, Usha, has taken out an office order barring the staff to take any directive from Chaubey, who is also the joint secretary or any other EC member impersonating as acting CEO.

“…Please note that there is no acting CEO currently in the Indian Olympic Association. Mr Raghuram Iyer was officially appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the IOA, effective from 05th January 2024 and assumed office effective 15 January 2024. His appointment has been duly recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI,” Usha wrote in the office letter.

“Staff members are hereby directed to not take any instructions or directives from Shri Kalyan Chaubey or any other Executive Council member, or any individual falsely assuming position of acting CEO. All official instructions related to operations and functioning of the IOA must only come from authorised persons, and specially, from myself or the CEO. Any deviation from this office order will be viewed seriously and may lead to disciplinary action.
