The world’s first high-altitude para sports centre will be established in Leh, Ladakh, aiming to advance the skills and confidence of athletes ahead of the 2028 Paralympics. A Memorandum and Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, and the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF).

Nabi to retire from ODIs after 2025 Champions Trophy

Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has announced that he will retire from One-Day Internationals after next year’s Champions Trophy in Pakistan. After Afghanistan’s 2-1 series win over Bangladesh here on Monday, the 39-year-old said he had been pondering about quitting the format since last year’s ODI World Cup. “In my mind, from the last World Cup, I was retired. But then, we qualified for the Champions Trophy, and I felt if I could play that, it would be great,” he said.

The world No 20 Indian pair was brushed aside 16-21, 16-21 by Hsu Yin-Hui and Lin Yin-Hui, ranked 24, in just 36 minutes in their women’s doubles round 32 of clash of the Super 500 tournament.

Badal college student shines at shooting championship

Simranpreet Kaur Brar, a student of BA-II at Dasmesh Girls College at Badal village here bagged the team gold as well as an individual bronze medal in the 2024 FISU World University Championship Shooting Sport 25 meter rapid fire pistol event held in Delhi today. Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Dr SS Sangha, Principal, Dasmesh Girls College congratulated her. She had last year brought laurels to the state by winning gold medal in the ISSF World Cup, Germany, in the 25m pistol women junior team event.
