Rauf was flawless in the three ODIs, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 10 scalps to his name. He took centre stage as Pakistan celebrated its first ODI series win in Australia in 22 years.

Treesa-Gayatri go down narrowly in thrilling opener
Indian women’s doubles team of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand put up an impressive fight before going down in three games against world No. 1 Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning of China in their Group A opening match of the BWF World Tour Finals here on Wednesday. Treesa and Gayatri, the only Indians to qualify for the season-ending tournament, lost 20-22, 22-20, 21-14 to Sheng and Tan, who had claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympics.

India’s Ajeetesh Sandhu posted a sizzling five-under 67 in the second round to open up a three-shot lead at the Rs 2 crore Vishwa Samudra Open here on Wednesday. Chandigarh-based Ajeetesh (69-67), who is playing at one of his favoured venues, the Delhi Golf Club (DGC), after a long time, signed a bogey-free card for the day to climb one spot from his overnight tied second place.

Pranavi finishes 3rd, records career best performance in LET
Indian golfer Pranavi Urs registered her best pay day as she finished third in the season-ending Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España on the Ladies European Tour (LET) here. Playing in her first year on the LET, Pranavi rounded of the week with four-under 68 to total 14-under and sole third. Pranavi picked up 42,000 euros and rose to 17th on the LET Order of Merit.

India lose to China 1-2 in Women’s Junior Asia Cup
Defending champions India suffered a 1-2 defeat to three-time winners China in their third match of the Women’s Junior Asia Cup here on Wednesday. The match saw two green cards with the Indian duo of Chanu Khaidem Shileima and Phalke Vaishnavi Vitthal being at the receiving end. India will face Thailand in their fourth and final league match on Thursday. The semifinals are slated for Saturday, with the final scheduled for Sunday.
