AIFF wins Asian award for grassroots football
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) was conferred with the prestigious President’s Recognition Award for Grassroots Football (Silver) during the AFC Annual Awards in Seoul. Since the preceding AFC Annual Awards in Doha last year, when it was handed the bronze award, the AIFF has been endorsed with a silver-level membership under the AFC Grassroots Charter.

Australia’s Wade retires from international cricket
Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade, who played in all three formats of the game for his country, announced his retirement from international cricket and a move into coaching. The 36-year-old played 36 Tests, 97 ODIs and 92 T20Is for Australia, making his last appearance at the T20 World Cup earlier this year. “Coaching has been on my radar over the last few years and thankfully some great opportunities have come my way,” he said.
