Punjab Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan gives away degrees to new CAs

Punjab’s Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan conferred degrees upon 132 newly qualified Chartered Accountants (CAs) during a convocation organised by the national apex body of the CA fraternity, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), at the Radisson Hotel on Sunday. Sandhwan urged the youth to participate in politics apart from maintaining excellence in their professional careers.
In his welcome address, ICAI’s Chandigarh Branch Chairman, CA Abhishek Singh Chauhan, apprised the new CAs about the various aspects of ICAI. Welcoming qualified CAs to the world of taxation, he urged all to remain vigilant and committed to their profession.
During the programme, ICAI National Vice President Charanjot Singh Nanda termed the profession the mother of all professions. He said it has an important place in the country’s economic scenario; hence, the responsibility and expectations towards it increase even more. Emphasising ethics in the profession, he urged future CAs to work with dedication and contribute to the progress of the country.
CA Sanjay Aggarwal from ICAI Central Body, CA Navjot Singh Arora and CA Pramod Vats from the Chandigarh Branch also spoke to the new graduates. NICASA Chairman CA Sahil Mittal, Executive Members, and former Chairmen — CA Anil Soni, CA Uma Kant, CA Vishal Puri, CA Anil Kakkar, CA Kapil Sabharwal, and CA Prem Garg — were present at the event.
