Speaker constitutes Vidhan Sabha committees

Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan today constituted the Vidhan Sabha committees with the post of Chairperson of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) going to Congress leader and Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed.

Former Speaker Gian Chand Gupta had started the practice of giving the post of chairperson of the PAC to the Opposition.

Kalyan has formed 13 committees. He himself will head the Committee on Rules while former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be one of its members.

Congress leader and Rohtak MLA BB Batra will head the Committee on Government Assurances while Deputy Speaker Krishan Lal Middha will head the Committee on Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions.

BJP MLA Vinod Bhayana will head the Committee on Violation of Protocol Norms and Contemptuous Behaviour of Government Officers with members of the Vidhan Sabha. Olympian Vinesh Phogat will be one of the members.

Former Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma will head the Committee of Privileges.
