Skill development programme at CSIO
Chandigarh, December 16
A five-day skill development programme on ‘water testing and analysis’ began at the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) for faculty and students from various institutions and research and development organisations across the country.
The programme is to nurture talent and manpower in the area of water chemistry so that they can be engaged in finding solutions for water-related problems.
The CSIO has also been actively working in developing techniques, materials and technologies for monitoring water pollutants such as heavy metals, fluoride, nitrate, residual chlorine and organic pollutants.
Prof RK Sinha, Director, CSIO, deliberated on the advances made by the CSIO in different domains of science. He also highlighted training programmes being conducted by the Indo-Swiss Training Centre at the CSIO.
The participants included faculty and students from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Central University of Jharkhand, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Centre for Incubation Innovation Research and Consultancy, Bengaluru, Guru Jambheshwer University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Defense Institute of High Altitude Research, Leh, Maharaja Agrsen University, Baddi, Chandigarh University, and Panjab University. — TNS
