SJOBA rally concludes; Subir Roy, Nirav Mehta post win
The duo of Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta won the ‘Overall Pro’ category in the St John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA) TSD Rally 2024. Vikas Malik and Dinky Varghese secured the first runner-up position, while Dr Vanishree Pathak and Kasshish Gagan Mehta bagged the third place. This year, as many as 46 participants from across India, including teams from Kolkata, Mumbai, Shillong and Uttarakhand, competed in this three-day motorsport event.
In the amateur category, Chandra Singh and Venu Rameshkumar claimed first place, followed by Naman Goyal, Anirudh Goyal, and Sukriti Chotani at second and Debashish Dutta RVD and Mrityunjoy Majumder at third place. The novice category witnessed Anil Bakshi, Sunita Bakshi and Ameya Bakshi taking the top spotlight. They were followed by Vidyanand Kumar and Rajesh Karan Deo at second position.
In the specially-abled category, Digvijay Singh and Preeti Goswami raced to victory. The duo of Ravinder Singh and Mithun bagged second position. In the above 1600cc category, Vikas Malik and Dinky Varghese bagged the pole position, followed by Vanishree Pathak and Kasshish Gagan Mehta at second position.
Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta dominated the up to 1600cc category. Raja Singh and Shantanu Grover secured second place. In the Coupe Des Dames (women) category, the team of Dr Vanishree Pathak and Kasshish Gagan Mehta won the first position. Lt Col Reena Jha and Lalita Gowda finished second. Shailendra Singh and Sushmita Chauhan won the couples’ category, followed by Ramanpreet Nangli and Puneet Nangli at second.
In the St John’s category, Atul Nanda and Hardik Nanda finished the rally in first position. Naman Goyal and Anirudh Goyal finished second.
