Six held on charge of immoral trafficking
A team from the women police station here raided a hotel on the Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh road last night and arrested six persons, including the hotel operator, for immoral trafficking. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act around midnight. A court today ordered to send all to judicial custody. Among those held, two women belong to Sector 13, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, and one is from Delhi.
According to information, Assistant Superintendent of Police (City) B Aditya, along with a police team, raided a hotel on the basis of a tip-off. The police said hotel operator Saurabh Monga of Padampur, along with Meena of Malka Ganj, North Delhi, Gurman Singh of Chak 49 RB village, Gungun and Rubina of Mani Majra and Shivraj Patel of Sriganganagar had been arrested. Of them, two were found in an objectionable position in a room on the first floor of the hotel, while the remaining four suspects, including the hotel operator, were found sitting in a cabin below.
During the search, the police also found 22 packets of condoms, along with about Rs 24,000 unaccounted money.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the hotel operator had allegedly invited girls from other cities for such acts using a WhatsApp group.
