Six booked for bogus registrations on crop portal
Six persons allegedly got fake registrations done on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ (MFMB) portal for paddy crop. On the complaint of Aditya Pratap Dabas, Deputy Director, Agriculture (DDA), of Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Yamunanagar, a case was registered against six persons of Yamunanagar district.
On this portal of the government, farmers have to register their crop to get a number of benefits, including sale of their crops in grain markets and compensation for damage caused to crops by natural disasters.
DDA Aditya Pratap Dabas said that they got complaints from some farmers who alleged that someone got fake registration of paddy crop on the MFMB portal.
He said that the farmers also alleged that they were not being issued gate pass by officials of the market committee, due to which they were finding it difficult to sell their produce in the grain markets. He said when the matter was investigated, they came to know that fake registration of 468 acres of paddy crop had been done by six persons.
“They have been identified as Boby, Neetu, Praveen, Sachin, Bittu and Sunil. We got an FIR registered against them,” said DDA Dabas.
