To curb illegal activities and maintain law and order, the Sirsa District Police launched ’Operation Aakraman’, targeting drug traffickers, illegal arms holders, bootleggers and other criminals. Conducted from 6 am to 12 noon, the operation saw multiple police teams raiding various locations across the district.

As a result, 29 individuals involved in criminal activities were apprehended. Among these arrests, was a man caught with 82 grams of heroin worth lakhs, and two others were detained under the Arms Act with two illegal pistols and six live cartridges in their possession.

The operation also involved intensive checking of all vehicles and people entering the state from Punjab and Rajasthan. Numerous vehicles were issued fines for traffic violations, while roadblocks, checkpoints and foot patrols were set up in towns, villages and public places to increase police visibility.

The primary goal of the operation was to assure citizens of their safety by reinforcing police presence and effectively clamping down on criminal elements. Police officials stated similar operations would continue in the future to keep a check on illegal activities and maintain security across the district.
